COVID-19 WEBINAR SERIES
Globally, workplaces are experiencing a fourth industrial revolution (4IR) that is significantly disrupting the nature of employment.
A key driver of the 4IR is the increasing development and deployment of artificially intelligent technologies. However, such technologies often generate polarising views regarding the benefits and risks of their widespread use.
This webinar will explore the nature of these technologies, where and how they are being used in workplaces, explore some of the ethical implications of their use and overview research insights into the impacts on workers.
Dr Sarah Bankins, Senior Lecturer, Macquarie Business School
Dr Bankins studies people and work in organisations.
Before becoming an academic, Sarah worked in various human resource/organisational development roles in the Queensland public sector. Her research focuses on the ‘psychological contract’, or the often implicit and unspoken obligations that exist between employers and employees.
Increasingly, her work looks at how the use of artificially intelligent technologies is impacting this contract, the nature of employees’ work and leaders’ decision-making.
