Transforming HR in a Digital Age

Digital disruption is everywhere and HR professionals have been front and center in managing the workplace transition through change management and right sizing. HR as a profession is not immune to digital disruption.

For over 15 years we have seen the removal of unnecessary paperwork and enjoyed online self service functions for on boarding, recruitment, employee/manager workflow, and reporting. We are only at the start of a journey towards employees and managers having anytime, anyplace access to information via multiple mobile devices.

Virtual teams, remote workplaces and 24/7 access to information are only some of the compelling factors driving an expectation of self service and autonomy in the workplace. This session will look to inform the audience of what’s available, what’s possible, and some of the technology already available in the market.

Speaker: Mark Bowden, Director Human Capital Practice, Deloitte

Mark Bowden is a Director in the Deloitte Human Capital Practice where he leads the HR & Technology Advisory team across Australia. Before consulting Mark worked in HR, initially for ExxonMobil and then for the UK government; his time as a consultant has focused on HR Transformation where he works with leading organisations to review the effectiveness of the HR function and design future state operating models to drive a more customer centric HR that enables business strategy.

Mark works from strategy, through design to implementation, including all aspects of HR technology. Mark has been published in a number of areas of HR transformation, including as a co-author of Deloitte’s High Impact HR Operating Model point of view.
