VIC OD&D Online Forum 

The topic of ethics will be covered over a series of four forums throughout 2021 and is being organised by the Victorian OD&D Committee.

These forums will discuss the imperative for ethical conduct and build on the many key aspects of ethics. This series will build a powerful business case for the organisational imperative to operate using ethical frameworks, and especially during decision making. We will also build the case of an urgent imperative for HR to be the catalyst for ethics.

During the series, you will receive tools and ways of thinking to enrich discussions with your Board and Executive team on why ethics is an opportunity and a threat if not taken into deliberate consideration.

This first session will focus on:
 - The imperative for HR
 - Why we should be the catalyst for ethics
 - Ensuring HR adds value to organisational imperatives
 - Retains the accountability for how people are treated and led
 - The impacts on employment brand franchise amongst current and future employees.

This session will also include break out rooms, where you'll discuss these key topics with your peers.

Speaker: Sarah McCann-Bartlett, CEO & Managing Director, Australian HR Institute  

Sarah has extensive, global experience in membership and trade bodies and has held senior roles across a variety of sectors in Australia, the UK and the USA.

Previously, Sarah held a number of senior executive positions at the Victorian Building and Plumbing Industry Commissions, including as Deputy Commissioner. She helped lead the Commissions’ response to the February 2009 bushfires, and developed and implemented a shared Corporate Services model between both Commissions, including developing and leading strategies to drive the change process.

Speaker: Dr Debra Panipucci, Co-Founder & Director, Adaptive Change Mindset

Dr Debra Panipucci has been helping organisations translate changes to their strategy, structure, process and people into successful outcomes across industries such as finance, insurance, FMCG manufacturing and superannuation.

With a Ph.D in decision-making, Debra has a deep understanding of behaviour change which she uses to identify risks and issues holding back change, as well as how to maximise business agility and resilience.

She is accredited in the Human Synergistics LSI, both Prosci and ChangeFirst methodologies, as well as a certified Executive Coach (IECL Level 2) and Graduate of the AICD.

Speaker: Lisa Gray, Chief Executive Officer, Victorian Funds Management Corporation




Lisa joined VFMC as CEO in February 2016.

Her career spans over 30 years predominantly in financial services having held various executive roles at NAB, MLC and Axa. She is an exceptional business leader capable of delivering outstanding commercial outcomes.

Lisa’s signature strength is strategic execution achieved by blending the power of communication with a unifying purpose to create self-sustaining organisations. She brings a unique combination of applying data insights, analytics and strategic intuition to make courageous, transformational decisions that deliver strong commercial results.

Lisa is a winner of the Telstra Business Women’s Award for medium-sized enterprises and prestigious Rupert Murdoch Fellowship for Leadership and Management. Lisa holds a Bachelor of Town & Regional Planning with Honours (University of Melbourne), Graduate Diploma in Management (RMIT), MBA (University of Melbourne / Columbia University) and AMP (INSEAD). Lisa is a Director of ING Australia and a member of Chief Executive Women.

Speaker: Phil Volkofsky, Director, Brakten Consulting

Phil is a seasoned executive with over 20 years experience in national and international leadership roles including Human Resources, Strategy, Risk, and governance. Phil’s current work, as the founder of Brakten Consulting, is action research with executives demonstrating ethics under pressure and research with leaders and teams adapting in a transforming environment.
