VIC Mildura Network

The Mildura network invites you to their first in-person network forum of 2021.

The esteemed panel will share their experiences from within their organisations and communities.

During this session the panel will discuss these important questions:

- How has the pandemic change the workplace / region?
- What are the business priorities as we move into a COVID normal state of operation?
- What are the risks that may material in the future? (mental health / working from home)
- What are the opportunities and how to we bring them to life?
- What is lost and what have we gained?

This network forum will be interactive as questions from attendees will be encouraged throughout the session. During the session we invite you to share your own and identify opportunities for the Mildura Region and HR sector. We'll discuss these opportunities and how we can work together to ensure we emerge from the pandemic better, stronger and more agile while remaining prepared for a future pandemic.

Speaker: Brent Jenetzki, Director, Employer Health Solution

Brent has been an Occupational Therapist for over 20 years assisting employers with injury prevention and management in the manufacturing, water, labour hire, and rehabilitation sectors.

Brent’s passionate about helping employers mitigate injuries in the workplace as he has seen the numerous personal and employer based impacts of injuries. Brent founded Employer Health Solutions in 2016 and has developed a system in Mildura that assists employers to proactively manage injured employees in the workplace, thus reducing/mitigating Workcover related impacts that has successfully resulted in a return to pre-injury duties rate of 96% which is unmatched anywhere in the scheme.

Operating a small business during a pandemic was tough and challenging for Employer Health Solutions not only for itself but also for the customers that rely upon Employer Health Solutions for guidance on how to navigate the potential health impacts on business and the unknowns of a pandemic. Employer Health Solutions were a critical service in the early phases of the pandemic through the provision of early COVID-19 health screening for its customers.

Speaker: Brett Millington, Chief Executive Officer, Mildura Regional Development

Brett has over 15 years’ experience at an executive level in the utilities industry and was an inaugural Board member of Mildura Regional Development before also being appointed CEO in October 2019.

Brett has a Bachelor of Science with honours from the University of Melbourne and post Graduate qualifications in Executive Business Operations from the University of Queensland and the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Brett led the development of the economic recovery elements of the Mildura Rural City Council COVID-19 Community Recovery Plan, highlighting the challenges for business during and in recovery from lockdowns, border closures and restrictions.

Speaker: Deb Fankhauser, GM - People & Customers, Lower Murray Water

Deb is a Certified HR Practitioner with the Australian Human Resource Institute with over 20 years’ experience in management and human resource management across government, not for profit and private sectors including Health Services, Education and Training and Aboriginal Services.

2020 was a year like no other for Deb appointed as the Pandemic Manager for Lower Murray Water. With the initial focus on preparing the workforce to work remotely without disruption to critical service, maintaining employee engagement and wellbeing and establishing a structured approach to pandemic management, we now focus on what did we learn and how do we emerge stronger, better and more efficient that pre-pandemic.
