You will have the chance to hear them share their experiences and insights gained through the program in a live Q&A session presented in partnership with HR Emerging Professional Network and our event sponsor Torrens University.

Speaker: Ruth Sims

Ruth Sims has more than 20 years professional communication, planning, and change experience in the higher education sector, as well as leadership roles in community and professional groups. She has worked effectively with CEOs and senior managers, students, academics and professional colleagues and holds qualifications in training and assessment, education management, and human resources management.

Currently undertaking PhD studies at the University of South Australia, Ruth’s research extends what we know about leadership to better understand the contribution followers, as well as leaders, make to organisations. Ruth has been a mentor and a mentee at different times in her career as well as designing and delivering a 12 month in-house professional development program which included a significant mentoring component.

Speaker: Leah Hendry

Leah Hendry is a Human Resources Advisor at Electrolux, where she is responsible for providing generalist HR support in a manufacturing environment. The HR support Leah provides include performance management, recruitment, industrial relations, employee relations, coaching, training and development. Leah holds a Master of Human Resource Management and is undertaking Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training focusing on reducing unplanned absenteeism within an Australian blue collar manufacturing environment. Leah is actively involved in the HR community. She is the Convenor for the Australian Human Resource Institute (AHRI) Emerging HR Professionals Network and has participated as a mentee and mentor in various programs. Leah enjoys mentoring up-and-coming HR professionals where she shares her knowledge and passion for HR.
