Adrienne Best is a Principal, within the Reward Practice in Mercer’s Career Business, based in Adelaide. She leads consulting projects across a range of public and private sector organisations in SA, WA & NT and manages a team of professionals as the Adelaide Career principal consultant.
Adrienne leads projects relating to reward strategy and design, job evaluation and remuneration assessments and reviews for a broad range of Government, private sector, and community-based clients.
Prior to Mercer, Adrienne was involved with extensive delivery of human resource management services at BHP Billiton from 2001-2007 after returning from working in the UK.
Adrienne holds a Bachelor of Management (Human Resource Management) from UniSA and an Executive MBA from the Melbourne Business School.
Speaker: Phil Morton, Managing Director, Morton Phillips
Phil Morton is a familiar face in the executive recruitment space in South Australia and has spent over a decade in the industry after an earlier career in engineering and construction management.
Beginning his career in local government, he gained further qualifications and experience in public works engineering and building surveying. Phil then moved to Boral and Adelaide Brighton where he proceeded rapidly to general management level, recognised for his technical skills but also relationship and business development capabilities.
Phil joined Morgan & Banks in 1997 which later became Hudson, where he was recognised with a President's award as Hudson's Top Operations Leader for Australia and New Zealand in 2003. His interest in the human aspects of business operation has driven a desire to continually improve services in a sector where relationship management is critical and success relies on networks and performance.
Phil co-founded Morton Philips in order to explore his passion to build a cohesive, decisive HR practice that is immediately responsible for and responsive to its clients and candidates. As of 1 July 2014, Phil became the sole owner and Managing Director of Morton Philips.

He joined the firm in 2004 and has an extensive career and network spanning 20 years’ recruiting for some of South Australia’s most high-profile appointments. He has earned himself credibility as a highly trusted advisor, consulting to a range of clients large and small, public and private, across a broad industry spectrum.
