Each year 1 in 5 Australians will experience a mental illness. Many people are not knowledgeable or confident to offer assistance. In addition, more and more organisations are realising the impact of mental health problems at work on their people and productivity.
The aim of this session is to introduce participants to developing an understanding of mental health problems in the workplace (and in today’s circumstances, when working at home); provide information to assist HR professionals in recognising that an employee may be developing a mental health problem; and provide an overview of Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) key concepts.

Speaker: Heidi Nemme, Workplace Psychologist - Mental Health Wellbeing/Resilience Facilitator & Coach, Shift Consulting
As a workplace psychologist Heidi specialises in building resilience and wellbeing through coaching, counselling, and leadership development.
Heidi draws from a variety of techniques including solution-focused coaching, CBT, Acceptance and Commitment therapy and strength-based approaches. Key areas include Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training, career coaching, stress management and resilience and leadership development.
Heidi’s goal is to help individuals build their self-awareness to enable them to identify more helpful ways to approach situations to achieve their work and life goals. .
