QLD WHS/Wellness & ER/IR Joint Online Network Forum
Last year the Australian Human Rights Commission released the Respect@Work report following the national inquiry into sexual harassment in Australian Workplaces. At the time the Sex Discrimination Commissioner, Kate Jenkins, stated that sexual harassment is still ‘prevalent and pervasive’ occurring in ‘every industry and at every level across Australia’.
In recent times we have seen sexual harassment being placed firmly in the spotlight. Despite the measures put in place and the knowledge that sexual harassment is unlawful, we keep hearing harrowing stories of how such behaviours are still rife in today’s society.
Please join our speakers Karen Maher (WHS and Culture Consultant) and Shannon Chapman (Special Counsel, Workplace Relations and Safety, Lander and Rogers) who will share their knowledge and insights.
Key learnings will include:
• What is sexual harassment in 2021
• Why is it an important issue to address for workplaces and implications for HR practitioners (including an insightful case study)
• How you can be proactive and prevent sexual harassment at work and in connection with work.
This forum is suitable for:
HR Practitioners of all career levels and roles.
