Investigations in the Workplace – a panel perspective
This forum will consist of a panel discussion focused on conducting an investigation in the workplace. The panel will be provided with a fictional case study and provide their perspectives, advice and tips for conducting an investigation. Questions from those in attendance will be strongly encouraged.
Those who conduct investigations (at any stage) in the workplace (supervisors, managers, HR staff, Employee Relations staff) will benefit from the insights of the panel members.
Speaker: Sherry Eason, Manager, Human Resources, Energy Super
Sherry Easson is an experienced HR professional passionate about providing best practice HR by partnering with organisations to drive high performance. With over 15 years generalist experience, Sherry has worked across a number of industries operating across all areas of HR with a particular focus on leadership capability and IR/ER.
Speaker: Calum Woods, Senior Workplace Relations Adviser, National Retail Association
Admitted to practise in 2016, Calum Woods first worked as the Associate to Commissioner Spencer at the Fair Work Commission prior to joining the National Retail Association. Calum is experienced in matters involving unfair dismissals, general protections, workplace bullying, disputes arising under enterprise agreements, award modernisation and industrial action.
Speaker: Kate Flynn, Industrial Officer, Electrical Trades Union
Before working at the Electrical Trades Union, Kate worked at the Together Union and Queensland Working Women’s Service also as an Industrial Officer. Kate has a bachelor of business and is currently working through a law degree.
