QLD ER/IR Network Forum
The Government has shifted it’s industrial relations strategy to consulting on job creation and is being presided over by the Attorney General and Minister for Industrial Relations.
AHRI was invited to inform the associated Working Groups and have submitted a white paper on the areas of Award Simplification, Casuals and Fixed Term Employees and Compliance and Enforcement.
Our presenter, Nick Ruskin, a member of the AHRI Working Party for the AHRI submission to the Australian Government Industrial Relations reform, will provide insight, information and updates on the AHRI submission and recommendations.
This forum is suitable for:
HR Practitioners in their mid and senior career level career, especially in the role of Industrial Relations.
Speaker: Nick Ruskin, Partner, K&L Gates
Nick's focus is Labour, Employment and Workplace Safety practice and approaches workplace issues in an efficient, forthright and practical way. He has a preference for resolving disputes rather than engaging in unnecessary, technical and usually dissatisfying long game litigation.
His experience lies in healthcare, education, the public sector, retail and service industries with particular expertise in employment claims including workplace complaints and investigations, termination and discrimination law claims, labour disputes and advocacy before Tribunals.
Nick has been engaged from time to time as an external consultant to the International Labour Organisation (ILO) in Geneva, New York and Bangkok and has addressed an ILO forum at the United Nations on Australian labour standards.
He is active in human resources circles. He was Convenor of the Employee Relations Interest Group of the Australian HR Institute (Victoria) for over two decades. He was awarded the 2013 AHRI Medal for services to the human resources sector.
