The purpose of our forum is to create a network of agile HR professionals who are thought leaders and influencers with positive impacts on their organisations and communities.

Our leaders today are working in high paced, hyper-connected, complex systems which require negotiating with and navigating through complex, competing demands from various stakeholders. Many of us work in global organisations where we need to be able to influence stakeholders without formal position authority.

This scenario is common and we have learnt from our forums that many People and Culture leaders experience frustrations with the leaders in their businesses, feeling time poor, get entangled in fighting fires, dealing with urgent business issues and possibly experience some risk of jobs being in jeopardy.

In this session, we are aiming to share experiences that hopefully inspire different thinking and adaptive solutions to challenges as they emerge.

Over the last few years Civica has experienced significant growth both in ANZ and globally. As an organisation they have been working more globally, introducing more centralised functions to ensure consistency in Group processes as well as accountability via a matrix structure. Leaders wanted to ensure they are equipped to lead effectively in this new world where they are dealing with major shifts, changes in the external environment, and of course, the changing expectations of their employees.

One of the initiatives was to develop and implement a leadership framework, called The Civica Way intended to both nurture the existing culture whilst ensuring leaders and employees were equipped to lead into the future. The People and OD team at Civica Asia Pacific, led by Helen have played a key role in developing this and implementing the framework.

Helen will share how her team supported and influenced the business in this journey and what they have learnt along the way. The session is designed to be interactive and break out rooms will be used to allow for discussion and insight generation.
