HR’s Ethical and Legal Obligations to Protect Data Privacy

Data privacy and data protection is a huge subject the HR community must address as a matter of urgency. The global impact of recent privacy regulatory changes across Europe and the USA, coupled with the Australian data breaches requirements can expose companies to reputational damage and severe penalties. HR has a traditional role as custodians of data and this event looks at some of the major privacy and data management techniques. An expert panel will share their knowledge and experience. Issues for discussion include:

  • HR’s data custodian responsibilities
  • Interface between humans, technology, the law and ethics
  • The data privacy landscape
  • Minimising risk using technology
  • Balancing management expectations

The session will be interactive and give attendees the opportunity to learn from their peers and to share concerns.
The session will be facilitated by Marc Dalmulder, Director Product Management at Oracle.
