NSW ER/IR Online Network

This forum will provide attendees with both HR practitioner and Legal insights, and the ER/IR implications of the COVID-19 crisis to date, looking to the past and the future.

Topics will include stand downs, JobKeeper and what the Government’s industry consultation (dubbed ‘Accords 2.0’) could mean for Australian businesses and HR professionals. We'll also discuss the road to recovery and getting people back to work.

Athena and Neil will share their own experiences and learnings from the crisis before being joined by Mathew for an interactive panel discussion and live Q&A. Attendees are highly encouraged to submit questions ahead of time that can be answered by our panellists.

Neil has specialised in workplace relations & safety for over 30 years. His focus is on helping employers achieve their goals against a backdrop of ever-changing and increasingly complex workplace laws. Most recently, that has included navigating COVID-19 and JobKeeper. Neil is recognised by Best Lawyers (Australia) for his expertise in Labour and Employment law and safety.

Athena is a Sydney-based HR leader, bringing 20 years of experience across multiple fast-paced industries, varying scales of businesses and at different stages - from start-up and high growth to acquisition and turnaround. Cliftons Venues – APAC’s leading corporate events spaces – employs a highly mobile and flexible workforce across 4 countries and 11 workplaces. Its sister company, Apples + Pears Entertainment Group, is also under Athena's remit.
An advocate for the HR profession, Athena has served as a NSW State Councillor since 2015 and recently became the NSW State President.
