Ever wondered how the big boss got to where they are?
How does HR really contribute to strategy?
Curious to what your next career step should be?
The benefits of mentoring are many, from an increase in self-confidence, learning how to take control of your career, being able to visualise the end goal, improving interpersonal skills and building relationships.
The Emerging Professionals Speed Mentoring event gives you the chance to speak to multiple senior HR practitioners all in the one night, at the one location.
Hear their stories, learn about their journeys, find out their favourite thing about working in HR, learn from some of their biggest mistakes and most importantly, build your HR network!
Mentors will include senior executives from both the public and private sectors, former ACT AHRI Council Presidents, experienced executive coaches and HR consultants.
The event will include opportunities to speak with a range of different HR practitioners at all levels, in a casual, relaxed environment. Starting with a few formal introductions, the main program will consist of 8-10 minute blocks where you will meet with a mentor, get to know them, ask a few questions and learn more about their story. A bell will sound, indicating the time to thank your mentor and move onto the next. If all the seats are full, feel free to grab a drink, a bit of finger food and chat to your HR peers.
Make sure you come prepared with a few questions for the mentors – don’t be shy and don’t let them off too easily! This is sure to be a great event, so register early to ensure your spot.
